40th Tactical Aviation Brigade

Captain Marat Mambetov, a MiG-29 pilot with Ukraine's 40th Tactical Aviation Brigade, has died after his aircraft was struck by a Russian missile during a combat mission. Reports say he ejected but did not survive. His death is being recorded among Ukrainian combat losses as the air war continues.

Ukrainian pilot Captain Marat Redvanovych Mambetov of the 40th Tactical Aviation Brigade, known as part of the 'Ghost of Kyiv', was killed while carrying out a combat mission, the Air Force announced. Flying a MiG-29, he delivered missile and bomb strikes against Russian forces on one sector of the front. His aircraft was hit during the operation.
