AbortOmat

Activists in Warsaw have launched an 'AbortOmat', a locker offering anonymous, swift access to abortion pills, in a direct challenge to Poland's near-total abortion ban. The initiative is being covered internationally as a novel form of civil disobedience, drawing attention to restricted reproductive access in the country and to the activists bypassing the law to help women obtain medication.

Activists in Warsaw have unveiled the 'AbortOmat', a 22-compartment locker system designed to give women faster and more private access to abortion pills. The initiative responds to Poland's restrictive abortion laws, among the strictest in Europe, which push many women to seek medication abroad or through informal networks.
