Color Kinetics, Philips' architectural lighting brand, has introduced ActiveBeam technology, which electronically controls the beam angle of fixtures without any moving parts. Announced via trade press coverage including Live Design Online, the technology targets entertainment, architectural and event lighting applications where dynamic beam shaping is needed. Industry reaction so far is limited to the trade announcement itself.
