Amrum

Lighting fireworks on the North Frisian islands of Föhr and Amrum can now cost revellers up to 10,000 euros, local outlet shz.de reports ahead of New Year's Eve. The islands are enforcing bans to protect thatched-roof houses, nature and residents, and authorities are warning visitors that violations will be punished with steep fines.
