Animal Equality

Animal Equality UK has criticised the absence of official inspections at fish slaughterhouses, describing the situation as a 'disgrace'. The campaign group says fish are being killed with essentially no oversight of welfare standards, and the issue has been picked up in national media reporting. The group is calling for mandatory inspection regimes covering fish processing facilities.

Animal rights campaigners demonstrated in Brussels against the EU's failure to deliver on animal protection commitments. The protest, organised by Animal Equality, criticises EU institutions for delays and shortcomings in enforcing animal welfare standards. It forms part of ongoing pressure on European policymakers to strengthen rules on farm animal treatment across the bloc.
