Aqueous

A project called Aqueous makes the claim that the files people keep on their systems are compressed poorly, wasting space that better compression could recover. The piece is circulating on a developer forum, where a single comment echoing the headline has drawn a handful of upvotes, but little discussion so far and no independent analysis of its findings.

3M says it has reached a broad resolution of personal injury litigation tied to aqueous film-forming foam (AFFF), the firefighting foam long linked to chemical contamination. The announcement, reported by financial news outlets, addresses thousands of claims from firefighters and others alleging health harm from PFAS chemicals. Investors and plaintiffs are watching for details on the settlement's size and payment schedule.
