Avantium

Dutch renewable chemistry company Avantium has announced the startup of its Flagship Plant in Delfzijl, producing its first batch of FDCA (furandicarboxylic acid), a key building block for plant-based plastics such as PEF. The milestone moves the company from pilot scale toward commercial supply of sustainable alternatives to fossil-based packaging materials.
