Bandel

A string of accidents in West Bengal is dominating Bengali news coverage. A man was severely injured when his neck got caught in Chinese manja (nylon kite string) near the Bandel overbridge, described as a familiar hazard. Separate reports cover a fatal night accident in Kolkata leaving one dead, two deaths in Durgapur after being struck by a truck, and questions over who is responsible for the Chorbagan stampede, including the role of police and social media.
