A new commentary from West Virginia Watch discusses a movie filmed inside the Beckley Exhibition Coal Mine in West Virginia, arguing that the film's fictional drama is no scarier than the real history of coal mining it draws on. The piece frames the mine itself as a setting where truth rivals fiction, and highlights the region's mining legacy as ongoing subject matter for filmmakers.
