Ceccherini

Italian director Giovanni Veronesi is drawing attention after a Repubblica interview in which he argued that comedy can hurt those in power. Quoting his long collaboration with actor Paolo Villaggio's world, he quipped that if he fails to laugh at something, he calls Ceccherini. The remarks have sparked discussion in Italy about the role of humour and satire in holding authority to account.
