Soil brought back by China's Chang'e-6 mission from the far side of the Moon contains what researchers describe as a surprising magnetic time capsule. The samples appear to preserve a record of the Moon's ancient magnetic field, offering rare insight into the lunar interior and how the Moon's magnetic environment evolved billions of years ago.
