Dan Barker

A quote from atheist activist Dan Barker is being widely shared: asking "if there is no God, what is the purpose of life?" is like asking "if there is no master, whose slave will I be?" The line argues that life's meaning does not depend on divine authority, and frames religious accounts of purpose as a form of servitude. It is drawing reactions from secular users who endorse it and religious users who dispute its framing of faith.
