David Hamilton Jackson

Residents of the US Virgin Islands marked the 111th Liberty Day, commemorating labor rights pioneer David Hamilton Jackson. Jackson, who fought for workers' rights and helped found the territory's first labor union and newspaper, is honored annually with events across the islands. Observances highlight his role in securing better working conditions and freedoms for Virgin Islanders in the early 20th century.
