DualSense

Sony has filed a patent describing technology that would turn the DualSense controller's touchpad into a smart control panel. The concept suggests the touchpad could display dynamic buttons or information that change depending on the game, expanding beyond its current touch-input role. Gamers are discussing whether such a feature could appear in a future revision of the PlayStation 5 controller and how it would work in practice.

Version 1.0.6 of SC-Controller, the open-source tool for configuring gamepads like the Steam Controller, DualShock 4 and DualSense on Linux, has been released. Linux gaming communities are sharing the update, which continues support for controller configuration including under Wayland.

Sony's DualSense wireless controller in Midnight Black, bundled with a USB cable for PC, is on limited-time sale in Japan. The controller works not only with PS5 and PC but also with Mac, iPhone, iPad and Apple TV, which is why the deal is drawing attention among Apple users looking for a compatible gamepad.
