EMLER

Civil society organisations, led by the International Drug Policy Consortium, are calling on states to confront systemic racism in drug control during a dialogue with the UN Expert Mechanism on the Right to Development (EMLER) at the 63rd session of the Human Rights Council. Advocates argue drug policies disproportionately harm racialised and marginalised communities and are pressing governments to reform enforcement and adopt rights-based approaches.
