Easy Anti-Cheat

Epic Online Services has introduced Easy Anti-Cheat for Linux, letting developers protect multiplayer games while supporting players on Linux systems. The move matters because anti-cheat incompatibility has long kept popular multiplayer titles from running on Linux, including through compatibility layers. Gamers on Linux see it as a step toward broader access, though adoption depends on studios enabling it in their games.

Epic Games has released a native preview of the Epic Games Launcher for Linux, and confirmed that Fortnite is coming to the platform alongside an upgraded Easy Anti-Cheat that works there. It marks a major shift for a title long unavailable on Linux due to anti-cheat barriers, and Linux gamers are welcoming the news.
