Fifteen EU countries have agreed to create a military space data mechanism worth around €50 million, coordinated by the European Defence Agency, with the capability targeted for 2029. The project aims to pool and share space-based data for defence purposes, reflecting Europe's broader push to strengthen its own defence capabilities and reduce reliance on others in space.
