Evanston Public Library

The Evanston Public Library has staged its first book fair, bringing together readers and writers for the new event. The inaugural edition is being covered by local outlets, which frame it as a community gathering for people interested in books and writing. Details on attendance, participating authors and whether the fair will become an annual fixture have not yet been reported.

The Evanston Public Library's Blueberry Awards honor the best children's literature on nature and climate, using books to help young readers process climate anxiety. The annual prize highlights stories that engage kids with environmental change constructively, and librarians hope the recognized titles offer comfort and agency rather than despair in the face of a warming world.
