A modder has converted Doom and Super Mario Bros into FMV games played from VHS tapes, with the conversions reportedly looking and sounding convincingly period-authentic. The catch is that the games inherit the usual limitations of full-motion-video titles, with reduced interactivity compared to the originals. The project is drawing attention for its nostalgic craft and technical ingenuity in merging two eras of gaming and home video.
