Adoption is a talking point in Brazil on several fronts. Fiocruz published material asking whether adopting a pet benefits mental health, while the city of Apucarana announced a dog and cat adoption fair this Saturday. Meanwhile, actress Leandra Leal moved audiences by recalling the phone call that led to her becoming a mother, saying she cried before she even knew the outcome.
