Israeli startup FireDome has developed an autonomous system described as 'artillery' for fighting wildfires, which detects approaching flames and launches fire retardant projectiles to create protective barriers around at-risk areas. The company says the technology aims to protect communities in wildfire-prone regions where response times are critical and traditional firefighting resources are stretched.
