Gail Lerner

Gail Lerner, co-creator of 'Newlyweds,' has been removed as showrunner of an upcoming NBC sitcom just weeks before its scheduled premiere. According to Deadline, the decision came ahead of the show's debut, a notably late-stage change that raises questions about the production. NBC has not detailed the reasons behind the firing, and it remains unclear who will replace Lerner in the role.

Actress Tea Leoni is seeing a spike in online attention in the United States. The interest coincides with news that Gail Lerner, co-creator of 'Newlyweds', was fired as showrunner of a new NBC sitcom ahead of its premiere, a story generating chatter around NBC's comedy lineup. No confirmed new project involving Leoni has been announced in connection with the reports.
