North Korea has accused the United States of creating a 'worse crisis' in the global nuclear order, using the claim to justify its own nuclear weapons programme. The statement, reported by Yonhap News Agency, reiterates Pyongyang's long-standing position that American hostility and pressure make its arsenal necessary for self-defence, amid continued tensions over its weapons development.

A vice minister for foreign affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea addressed the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly during its general debate in New York. The speech comes as part of the annual gathering where member states set out their positions on global security and diplomacy, and it draws attention given Pyongyang's strained relations with much of the international community.

The Association for Psychological Science argues that psychological research conducted outside the Global North is held to a different standard than work from wealthy Western institutions. The organization highlights how scientists in Africa, Latin America, Asia and other regions face greater scrutiny, fewer resources and biased assumptions about the quality of their research, calling for fairer treatment and greater recognition of scholarship from the Global South.
