Hugh Hefner

Crystal Hefner, the widow of Playboy founder Hugh Hefner, is urging Jessica Biel not to take on the role of a wife in a planned film about the Playboy Mansion. The plea comes as Hollywood develops projects revisiting Hefner's life and the culture surrounding his famous residence. Crystal Hefner has previously spoken critically about her time with the publisher, and she wants Biel to walk away from the part rather than portray life at the mansion.

Jessica Biel has been cast to play Hugh Hefner's wife in 'Playmates,' a film being made by Searchlight Pictures about the Playboy founder. The casting news was reported by Variety. Details about the film's plot, director and release date have not yet been made public, and no start date for production has been announced.

Jessica Biel has joined the cast of 'Playmates,' an upcoming film set at the Playboy Mansion, and will play Hugh Hefner's wife. The casting adds a notable name to the project, which centers on life inside the famous mansion and the people around its founder. Entertainment outlets have picked up the announcement, with coverage focusing on Biel taking on a real-life role tied to one of America's most recognizable pop-culture figures.
