Human Cell Atlas

Scientists, backed by the Wellcome Trust, are working to map the human body cell by cell, building an atlas of every cell type and its function. The effort, part of a global push to catalogue human biology at single-cell resolution, is being highlighted as a step toward better understanding disease and development.
