Janasena

Political activity in Andhra Pradesh is intensifying ahead of local body elections. Mayor posts are being contested on Monday, with the ruling alliance working out a new formula for sharing seats among its partners, including Pawan Kalyan's Janasena, which is reportedly seeking its due share of the 2,091 posts on offer. Parties are also manoeuvring for control of RTC union elections. Discussions centre on which party will get which positions, as the TDP, Janasena and BJP negotiate internally.

Vangaveeti Radha has joined the Janasena Party, a development described as a sensation in Vijayawada politics. The move is drawing wide attention in Andhra Pradesh, as the Vangaveeti name carries strong political legacy in the region. Reports say the switch could reshape local political equations ahead of coming elections.
