Jorginho

Flamengo have announced their starting lineup for the Fla-Flu derby against Fluminense. Saúl comes in to replace Jorginho in midfield, while Varela and Léo Ortiz both return to the side. Fans are discussing the changes and what they mean for one of Brazilian football's biggest rivalries ahead of kick-off.

Flamengo coach Jorginho said winning the world championship against Palmeiras carried an extra taste, and reignited debate over the old Copa Rio. His remarks drew attention in Brazil, as fans and pundits argued over the provocation aimed at Palmeiras and the historical status of the Rio Cup competition.

Brazilians voted in general elections, with early counts showing Jair Bolsonaro at 47% and Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva at 44%, forcing a second-round runoff for the presidency. State governors and senators are being declared across the country, including Zucco in Rio Grande do Sul and Jorginho Mello in Santa Catarina. Media outlets are running live tallies, and rules on mandatory voting abroad and election-day weapon transport bans are drawing attention.

AtlasIntel has released a new poll for the governor's race in Santa Catarina, Brazil, with Jorginho Mello among the candidates measured. The survey is drawing attention from voters and commentators tracking the state's electoral landscape, as polls like this often shape perceptions of momentum heading into the campaign.
