Leipzig plant

BMW is putting a hydrogen combustion truck to work in the logistics operations of its Leipzig plant, using the vehicle to haul materials on site. The move gives the company real-world experience with hydrogen internal combustion as an alternative to battery-electric and fuel-cell drivetrains for heavy duty transport. It adds to ongoing debate among carmakers over which zero-emission technology best suits trucks and industrial logistics.
