Lingen

Police in Reutlingen, Germany, have detained a man suspected of attempted murder after head-on collisions left three people seriously injured. According to Stern, the driver was taken into custody following the crashes, and investigators are examining whether the collisions were deliberate. The case is drawing attention as authorities work to establish a motive.

The New South Wales town of Bellingen is being debated as an example of car-centred urban design versus the 15-minute city model. During the holiday season, motorists sit idling in congested streets after long commutes, with the townscape described as reduced to a careless transit space people simply want to pass through as fast as possible.

A resident from Lower Saxony says she has written two or three times by post and email to the Ukrainian embassy about the Rosatom deal connected to Lingen, but never received more than an automatic reply. She suggests the silence may stem from her general opposition to nuclear power while Ukraine plans new reactors. The exchange highlights frustration over Germany's continued nuclear fuel ties with Russia despite the war.
