M56

A stretch of the M56 between junction 2 at Sharston and junction 5 at Manchester Airport was closed as police pursued a vehicle, reportedly involving Cody Lowndes. The Bolton News ran a live recap of the incident as drivers faced disruption on one of the region's busiest routes. Motorway closures of this kind typically cause significant tailbacks and diversions for airport traffic while officers bring the chase to an end.
