The Hanshin Tigers have clinched their second consecutive Central League pennant. Catcher Seishiro Sakamoto described the jubilant final moment, saying teammates told each other to 'leave it to Hamada' as pitcher Masato Hamada, once a colleague, closed out the decisive game with a strong relief outing. The victory sealed back-to-back titles for the Osaka club, a feat fans had awaited.
