Muppets

Fans are floating the idea of horror movie remakes headlined by the Muppets, the puppet characters created by Jim Henson and now owned by Disney. The concept mixes the franchise's family-friendly comedy with classic horror titles, and people are sharing which films would suit the treatment. Reactions range from amusement at the absurd premise to curiosity about whether such a project could actually work.

The Wisconsin Union Directorate Film Committee is hosting a screening of Muppet Treasure Island, the 1996 musical comedy that sends Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy's crew on an adaptation of Robert Louis Stevenson's classic adventure. The event adds the family favorite to the union's regular program of free film screenings for students and the campus community in Madison.
