Reports circulating about a bank holiday affecting employees and customers in India are being dismissed as false. News18 Tamil says a notice issued to bank union leader SH Ahsan (Shaj) or on his behalf labelled the claims as fake news, urging people not to believe messages about an imminent bank-wide leave or strike. Customers are advised to rely only on official announcements from banks or the finance ministry regarding branch closures.
