Separately, French reports cover a man building a home on a rusty trailer for about 13,000 euros, and a haulage firm fined 26,000 euros on a Normandy motorway.

A lorry transporting several tonnes of gravel overturned on the A84 motorway in France, according to local outlet Actu.fr. The incident blocked the carriageway and prompted a response from emergency services. The motorway is a major route through Normandy and Brittany, so drivers are being advised of potential disruption while the wreckage and spilled gravel are cleared.

Hundreds of thousands of people marched across France on 29 September in a day of strike action demanding more resources for the public sector, with unions reporting more than 200,000 demonstrators nationwide. Rouen, in Normandy, was among the cities seeing mobilisations, with local rallies drawing public sector workers and supporters. The action targeted government funding for hospitals, schools and other public services.
