Google is being accused of walking back its commitment to provide ten years of software updates for Chromebooks. The claim, reported by OSNews, has drawn criticism from users and commentators who say the promise was a key selling point for Chromebook buyers, particularly schools and businesses that relied on long device lifespans. Critics argue the move undermines trust and could shorten the practical life of hardware still in use.
