Oberstdorf

German mountain rescue services (Bergwacht) are making headlines with several recent operations. Teams rescued two German brothers trapped in freezing conditions after a 1 a.m. emergency call, discovered a dead hiker near the Seealpsee in the Oberstdorf area, and collected 700 kilos of rubbish from a glacier, with some finds now being investigated by police. The rescue service has also issued warnings to hikers about conditions in the mountains.
