Old.Reddit.com

Reddit is tightening access to its legacy interface, old.reddit.com, blocking people who have not used it in the past six months. The company says the move is aimed at limiting use of the old design, which many longtime users prefer to the current interface. The change is drawing criticism from users who see the classic site as a lighter, simpler alternative to Reddit's official apps and newer web experience.

Reddit is restricting Old.Reddit.com, its legacy desktop interface, so that people who have not used it in six months can no longer access it. Users and commentators read the move as a step toward eventually shutting down the old interface altogether, which long-time users rely on as a lighter, less intrusive alternative to the modern site. Many are voicing frustration about losing the classic experience.
