Otranto

Rescue services are in the news in Italy following a series of mountain emergencies. An elderly man who went out for a walk was found during the night after getting lost, while in separate incidents a hiker died at around 1,800 metres despite rescue attempts, and a 52-year-old suffered a fatal collapse just below a summit. Separately, officials in Otranto are calling for a model to make iconic sites like the Bauxite Lake safer and more accessible.
