Ovda Airbase

Israeli fighter jets reportedly took off from Ovda Airbase and are flying over the West Bank. Last Monday, several squadrons came dangerously close to Iranian airspace in what Axios described as a 'mock attack', and observers warn a similar operation could be repeated, heightening fears of a broader confrontation between Israel and Iran.

The United States is deploying a third aircraft carrier to the Middle East, with the USS Theodore Roosevelt and the 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit, adding roughly 10,000 personnel expected in the region by the end of November. The move follows Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth's secret meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at Ovda Airbase, and comes as the USS George H.W. Bush is already deployed, raising concerns about escalating regional tensions.
