- 1New book argues our picture of Hitler's rise is wrong●‘Hitler was a lazy criminal who slept in until noon’: why most of what we think we know about the rise of the Nazis is wrong
German artist and writer Philipp Ruch publishes a new book arguing that Hitler was a lazy, undisciplined criminal who slept until noon, and that seeing the Nazis' rise through the lens of the later Third Reich distorts history. He contends most popular assumptions about how the NSDAP achieved its electoral breakthrough are mistaken, prompting debate about how fascism should be understood.
