Pine Ridge Reservation

Thunder Valley Community Development Corporation, a Lakota nonprofit based on the Pine Ridge Reservation, is returning 50 bison to nearly 40,000 acres in the Stronghold area of Badlands National Park in South Dakota. The release, planned for October 6, is being celebrated as a meaningful step for tribal-led conservation and the restoration of bison to Lakota lands.
