Pittsburg State University

Steve Mingori, the left-handed pitcher and Pittsburg State University alumnus who spent a decade in Major League Baseball with the Kansas City Royals and Cleveland Indians, is being remembered with the tribute 'He loved the game of baseball.' The remembrance highlights his college roots and his reputation as a dependable relief pitcher during the 1970s.

Pittsburg State University is staging the hit musical 'In the Heights' for the first time in Pittsburg, with a cast drawing on alumni, current students, faculty, and community members. The production brings Lin-Manuel Miranda and Quiara Alegría Hudes's Tony-winning show about life in Washington Heights to a local stage for the first time, blending a wide range of performers from the university and the wider community.
