Podor

The Youth Olympic Games flame tour has reached Senegal's Fouta region, travelling from Podor to Matam along the Senegal River. Organisers describe the relay as illuminating the northern communities as the flame makes its way through the country, bringing the Games' symbolism to towns far from the main venues.

The Youth Olympic Games Flame Tour is making a stopover in the northern Senegalese towns of Richard-Toll and Podor. The tour brings the YOG flame to communities ahead of the Games, which Senegal is set to host as the first African nation to stage the event. The northern river towns join the route as the relay continues across the country.
