Project Tektite

Friends of the Virgin Islands National Park has produced a new documentary, 'Project Tektite – America's Undersea Space Program', revisiting the 1969–70 NASA-backed experiments in which aquanauts lived on the ocean floor near St. John in the U.S. Virgin Islands. The program trained astronauts for space-like conditions underwater and remains a notable chapter in the park's history.
