Purnekar

Investigators probing the murder of Pradeep Purnekar have made a startling discovery: the suspected shooter had been living under cover as a vada pav vendor close to the victim's house, according to reports in the case. The revelation has added a dramatic twist to the investigation, with coverage highlighting how the suspect allegedly surveilled the area while posing as a street food seller before the killing.

BJP leader Meenakshi Shinde is at the centre of a political storm in Thane after the Purnekar murder case, having named Shiv Sena leader Aditya Thackeray in connection with the killing while addressing a journalists' forum. Her remarks have heated up the political atmosphere in Thane, and police security has been deployed outside her residence amid rising tensions between the two parties.
