Ryan Vilade

Ryan Vilade hit a go-ahead solo home run for the Tampa Bay Rays against the New York Yankees, helping swing a close game in their favour. The blast is drawing attention because Vilade is a relatively little-known player making a big impact in a high-stakes AL East matchup, and fans are buzzing about the unlikely hero moment.

Ryan Vilade hit the first playoff home run of his career, a shot that would only have cleared the fence at the ballpark where it was hit. The homer gave his team a highlight moment in the postseason game, and fans noted the unusual short-distance blast.
