Sherlock Holmes

A new Sherlock Holmes television series is officially in the works, and it will carry an adults-only rating. Details about the cast, network and release date have not been announced, but the promise of a mature take on Arthur Conan Doyle's detective is already drawing attention from fans of previous adaptations.

Writer and Sherlock Holmes specialist David Stuart Davies has provided publisher Pan Macmillan with a guide to reading Arthur Conan Doyle's Holmes works. With four novels and fifty-six short stories in the canon, Davies addresses the common question of which story newcomers should pick up first, offering readers a recommended starting point for the classic detective fiction.
