Swiss art museums

Nine art museums across Switzerland have received federal funding to research objects in their collections that originate from Cameroon. The initiative is part of ongoing European efforts to examine the colonial-era provenance of museum holdings. Artforum reported the announcement, which signals Switzerland's growing institutional engagement with questions of restitution and cultural heritage.
