Tampines

Singapore's Straits Times is covering three local stories: haze conditions affecting the island, the sentencing of the driver in the fatal Tampines crash, and the deployment of robots in Punggol. The fatal 2024 crash, which killed two people in Tampines, has drawn sustained public attention, and haze levels remain a recurring seasonal concern for residents.

A driver involved in the fatal Tampines crash in Singapore has been sentenced, while a female teacher has been jailed in a separate case. Air quality concerns have also resurfaced as haze affects Singapore. The developments, highlighted in a Straits Times live briefing, are drawing attention to road safety accountability, misconduct in schools, and seasonal haze in the region.
