WikiProject AI Cleanup

Wikipedia editors are organizing an effort to remove and rewrite articles containing AI-generated material. The initiative, known as WikiProject AI Cleanup, aims to identify machine-written text, images, and citations that have crept into the encyclopedia. Volunteers worry that large language models are quietly degrading Wikipedia's reliability, and the project has drawn wide attention as communities debate how to police AI content at scale.
